Rental agreements are on a rent-to-own basis. Your monthly payment will be automatically deducted on the day of the month in which you filled out the contract. Payment will be collected every month until the instrument is returned or paid off. 100% of your rental payment applies towards the retail price of owning the instrument. Early payoffs receive a 20% discount off the remaining balance.
You may return the instrument at any time with no further obligation (subject to inspection for missing parts and/or damage). Equity in the instrument will be forfeited.
Brass and woodwind instrument rentals are required to purchase a maintenance kit. These kits have everything you will need to properly clean and oil the different parts of your instrument. This is something that should be done on a regular basis by the student. Canby Music also provides a more thorough cleaning process that is free of charge. We recommend this be done once a year.
During the rent-to-own period instruments MUST be repaired at Canby Music. All standard repairs and maintenance are included free of charge during this time. Repairs can be dropped off at Canby Music or you can request we pick the instrument up at your school. When the repair is complete we will return it to the school. We have loaner instruments available. Instruments repaired at another store may be subject to a charge.
A late fee of $5 will apply each week until contract is up-to-date. After 30 days of non payment the contract will terminate and the instrument must be returned. If not returned renters will be liable for collection fees associated with the collection of the instrument.
Canby Music is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged instruments. If an instrument is lost, stolen or damaged it is the renter's responsibility to pay for the instrument. Damage is considered anything that was done intentionally or due to neglect and is outside the scope of normal wear and tear. We recommend placing the instrument on your renters/homeowners insurance policy.
After the contract has been submitted we will contact you to set up payment. You are under no obligation to purchase anything until you provide payment info.
