Our rent-to-own program is the best way to get a student started!
What that means is you rent month to month and ALL the money goes towards owning the instrument. Of course you can return the instrument at any time if you choose. There is also discounts if you decide you would like to pay it off early.
All our instruments are teacher approved and in many cases made in the USA.
Brand new, never played instruments are available as well as some more affordable, lightly used instruments. All used instruments have been serviced and thoroughly sanitized.

With the ever changing state of the world Canby Music is here to help in any way we can. In addition to coming in-store to get your instrument, we will deliver to your school or home free of charge (within 50 miles). Simply fill out the rental form or call us at 503-263-2263
To help you get started right, we are offering two free lessons with every rental. The first one will be when you get your instrument and will cover how to put your instrument together, making your first sounds and properly cleaning it before putting it away. The second lesson will be scheduled for a later date once you have started school. It will cover any questions or struggles you are having with your instrument.
We do not charge extra for maintenance and will repair, clean and maintain your instrument for the entire time you are renting from us (neglect / deliberate damage excluded). Once the last payment is made on your contract you own the instrument outright. There are no additional charges or payments. If you choose not to rent for the full term you can return the instrument at any time with no additional charges (again, neglect / deliberate damage excluded).
Modern, climate controlled studios offer a very comfortable learning experience.
Standard lessons are $35 per 1/2 hour once a week.
We offer a 15% discount ($30 per half hour) for two or more students, hour lessons or multiple lessons / week
Lessons are taught Monday - Saturday. We will work with you to find a day and time that works best for your schedule.
Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, Banjo, Mandolin, Drumset and Student Percussion
I started Canby Music in 2008 and have been teaching private lessons from the beginning. I have a pretty good idea of what works and what doesn't now, and I am passing along that knowledge to the instructors here at the store. I still teach but the majority of new students will be with one of the very capable employees of Canby Music.
